Arcade Racing Dominates iOS Gaming in Latin America: Q4 2020 Insights

The final quarter of 2020 proved to be an exciting period for arcade racing enthusiasts on iOS in Latin America. With fresh data from Sensor Tower, we take a closer look at the performance of the top arcade racing apps in the region.

Voodoo, a French publisher, saw significant activity with their title Shortcut Run. Downloads skyrocketed to 103K in the first week of November and maintained a strong presence throughout the quarter, with a slight dip to 92K in mid-December before rebounding to 103K by year's end. Weekly active users followed a similar trajectory, peaking at 343K in late November and concluding the quarter with a robust 225K.

Another Voodoo offering, Scribble Rider, experienced a steady decline in downloads, from 34K at the start of the quarter to 19K by its close. Despite the downward trend in downloads, weekly active users displayed resilience, ending the quarter at nearly 50K.

Gameloft's Asphalt 9: Legends maintained a consistent performance in revenue, starting strong with $3.6K in the last week of September and hitting a high of $7.5K in mid-December. Downloads for the title showed modest fluctuations, rounding out the quarter at approximately 24K. Weekly active users were stable, with a slight increase from 68K to 73K over the quarter.

Wacky Run, another game from Voodoo's portfolio, had a remarkable surge in downloads, from a mere 464 in late November to a peak of 50K in the week leading up to Christmas. Active users mirrored this explosive growth, jumping from 40K to 83K over the same period.

Zynga Inc. introduced Gear Race 3D in November, and the game saw impressive growth, especially in the second half of December, with downloads reaching 78K and active users hitting 115K.
